The deadline for admissions into the first year of Intermediate in Telangana ends today, on Thursday (September 30).However, there is a possibility of extending the admission deadline again as more than 400 private junior colleges affiliation process is still pending.
Due to the delay in the issuance of affiliated recognition of junior colleges, the admission deadline has to be extended till the affiliation process completes. However, even colleges that do not have affiliation recognition are offering admissions to students.
A total of 1,574 colleges have applied for accreditation, of which affiliations have been issued to 1,100 colleges.Hence, it is widely heard that the deadline might extend till the accreditation process completes.
According to the regulations, admissions should be made only after the colleges have obtained affiliated recognition and embedded the college name in the Inter Board website. However, it is learned that all the colleges which have applied for affiliations are undertaking admissions.
The Telangana state government has extended the accreditation process deadline in the wake of Covid. However, the college owners are of the view that all the colleges which have applied for accreditation will surely get the accreditation recognition.
