The Telangana state forest department has lashed out at a real estate company for cutting down trees without any permission.Westside Ventures, located in Chilukur, Moinabad Zone, Rangareddy District, was fined Rs 4 lakh.
The company representatives cut down 65 trees within their land area last week without any permits.Locals complained about this to the forest department officials.
After checking thoroughly, the forest department officials noticed that the trees were determined to have been removed indiscriminately.Hence, the forest department levied Rs 4 lakh fine under the WALTA Act.Also, the forest department officials ordered replanting the new trees.
On seeing this, the TRS MP Joginapalli Santoshkumar lauded the Telangana state Revenue and Forest Department officials for taking appropriate action by imposing heavy fines on the real estate company that cut down the trees indiscriminately.
He commented that this move would serve as an early warning to those who think to cut down the trees without permission.
The incident shows that regardless of who they are, they will face the consequences if they cut down the trees at will.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, he tweeted that the people who try to exploit nature would definitely be punished.
