Mumbai 25 August : Manish Mundra – the producer behind films such as “Masaan” and “Newton” has made his directorial debut with “Siya,” the trailer of that film was released last week.The director has revealed that the movie, which features Pooja Pandey and Vineeet Singh, is “a story of determination and perseverance”.The film follows the story of a girl from a small town who, despite all obstacles decides to uproot oppressive patriarchy and fight to achieve justice.
Speaking about the film Manish declared: “‘Siya is a story of determination and perseverance.It also is a story that deals with the hypocrisy of the crimes against women.It is a crucial story at a time when the atrocities of this kind continue to be a rising issue all over the world.”
The trailer of the film tells of the need for justice , and the fight to do the right thing.The film follows the adventures of the protagonist , who is navigating the world of a man.
“I hope that ‘Siya’ will spark important dialogue and discussion on the subject, and that viewers are aware of the significance of the movie and are supportive of it” the director also stated.
For actress Pooja Pandey, it was “a role of an entire lifetime” as it tested all aspects of her work as an artist.
“Victims have suffered so much , and I needed to make sure that the character was a reflection of the emotions that are a rollercoaster of emotions that go through the mind of a woman when something like this occurs to her.I hope that I’ve been able to do justice to the character , and that viewers feel connected with her”, Pooja added.
Produced by Drishyam Films, ‘Siya’ will be released in the country on September 16, 2022.
