Paris, 23 Nov : , Jean Castex, Prime Minister of France, has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to media reports.Castex returned from Brussels Monday afternoon, having met with Alexander De Croo his Belgian counterpart.
He learned that his daughter had been tested positive.Xinhua reported Le Figaro, a French newspaper, as reporting.
Local media reports that De Croo would be subject to a test on Wednesday.He will then remain quarantined until his results are known.
To avoid potential risks, several senior officials of the Belgian Government will be placed in quarantine.
The delegation includes French ministers such as Minister of Armed Forces Florence Parly and Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
Minister of Justice Eric Dupond–Moretti is also included.Secretary of State for European Relations Clement Beaune also participates.
Castex was “immediately given a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test which proved to be positive,” the newspaper quoted the office of the Prime Minister.
In order to allow him to work in isolation, the schedule for French Head of Government will be altered in the next days.
