Brazil President Lula da Silva Praises ‘RRR’, Director SS Rajamouli Reacts

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli expressed his delight as Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva praised the pan-India blockbuster film “RRR” for its political themes and impressive dance sequences.The director of the 2022 hit movie, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, took to social media to share his excitement.

Responding to Lula’s comments during a conversation in New Delhi at the G20 Summit, Rajamouli tweeted his gratitude.He thanked Lula for his kind words and said that it was heartwarming to learn that he had mentioned Indian Cinema and enjoyed RRR.He also said that his team was ecstatic and hoped that Lula was having a great time in India.

President Lula mentioned “RRR” as a film he enjoyed, praising its three-hour runtime, humor, beautiful dance sequences, and its underlying critique of British control over India.He congratulated the director and cast for their enchanting work.

“RRR” is a fictional story set in pre-independence India, following the lives of real Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (played by Jr NTR) in the 1920s.The film achieved immense success, earning over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide and making history by winning the Best Original Song Oscar for its Telugu track “Naatu Naatu.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the ceremonial gavel to President Lula, symbolizing the transfer of the G20 presidency to Brazil on December 1 this year.This marks an important moment in international diplomacy.
