Dharamsala 3 September : Rejoicing having witnessed the strength of Tibetan people in their efforts to maintain the government in exile, an US delegation headed by Senator Jon Ossoff said on Saturday the goal of the trip was to learn how Tibetans continue to keep the fire of their fight in exile that can be both inspirational and inspiring.
The delegation was greeted by a group led by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament-in-exile Dolma Teykhang Tsering.

While Ossoff expressed his joy at the determination of Tibetans in exile, he informed the Tibetan Parliamentarians of his meeting with the Dalai Lama at the latter’s residence in Mcleodganj as well as describing the purpose of the visit of the delegation.

A variety of other issues related to Tibet and the Tibetans were also discussed during the discussion with members of the standing committee of the Tibetan Parliament.

In the past the members of the US delegation were made aware of the working of the Parliament-inexile and issues that concern Tibet as well as Tibetans.

The Senator is urged to voice his support for Tibet’s cause, Teykhang spoke about China’s attempt to regulate the process of reincarnation of Tibetan lamas such as the Dalai Lama, to legitimise its illegal occupation of Tibet.

By restricting the process of reincarnation, China will be able to control the emotional realm of Tibetans following the ruling of their territory, Teykhang said.

She also stated that the world must end China’s inhumane and unjustified imperialism.

When he spoke about the Tibet outreach programs undertaken by the Tibetan Parliament, Teykhang explained that their final goal of solving the problem of Tibet is the same, despite some internal disagreements that is in fact one of the most important aspects in an effective democracy and added that “we are in agreement to disagree”.
