United Nations, Aug 17 : More than half one million tonnes of grain has been exported out of Ukraine through the Black Sea since the beginning of August according to the UN reported.Since Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN were able to agree to allow for the Black Sea route at the end of July, 36 routes have been approved according to the UN announced on Tuesday, noting that 21 vessels left Ukraine to the Bosporus and 15 sailed through the Strait in the direction of the war-ravaged country.
An total of 27 freighters were inspected in Turkey in accordance with the agreement, as reported by the news agency dpa.
There is a chance that over 20 million tons of grains are stuck in Ukraine because Russia began its war on the 24th of February and blocked the ports of Ukraine.
More than 25% of all grain shiploads that leave have been so far destined for Turkey 22 percent to Iran as well as South Korea, 8 per percent to China and 6 percent for Ireland according to the UN stated.

The UN is worried about hungry and food insecurity in the poorest regions of the world in the event that Ukraine fails to become major grain exporter.
