CBI reveals role of Umashankar Reddy in YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case

The CBI has made a clear statement on the role of Gajjala Umashankar Reddy, the accused in the murder case of YCP senior leader and former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy.CBI officials said that there was evidence of Gajjala Umashankar’s role in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

According to a CCTV camera near Vivekananda Reddy’s house, Umashankar Reddy was seen running on the road at around 3.15 am on the day of the murder.The footage was sent to the Director of Forensic Science in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and the Film Factor in Bangalore.

The CBI officials said that Umashankar’s run has been recorded in the presence of witnesses and sent along with the CCTV footage.

According to the CBI, the forensic lab and Film Factor were of the view that the two videos were similar.

On the other hand, Umashankar Reddy’s bail petition was heard in the Special Sessions Court of SC and ST cases in Kadapa yesterday.

The CBI had said in its preliminary charge sheet filed in the court on October 27 that Erra Gangireddy, Yadati Sunil Yadav, Umashankar Reddy and Sheikh Dastagiri were involved in the Viveka murder case.Considering the CBI charges, the court cancelled Umashankar Reddy’s bail petition.
