The AP government is receiving a series of shocks from the Andhra Pradesh High court.Recently, the Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed the orders issued by the Jagan government appointing Sanchaita Gajapathiraju as the Chairman of MANSAS Trust in place of former Union Minister and TDP leader Ashok Gajapathiraju.
However, the High court ordered the reappointment of Ashok Gajapathiraju as the Chairman of MANSAS Trust.
Now, the Andhra Pradesh High Court issued notices to the newly appointed AP Election Commissioner Neelam Sawhney.
A petition has been filed in the High Court challenging the appointment of Neelam Sawhney as SEC of Andhra Pradesh.Recently, the court heard the petitions and issued notices to Neelam Sawhney, the AP government, and other defendants to file counterclaims.
The next hearing was adjourned to June 29.
On March 31, former SEC of AP Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar’s tenure ended and Neelam Sawhney was appointed as the new SEC of AP as CM Jagan recommended three officers names to Governor.As soon as she took the oath of office, she held ZPTC and MPTC elections on April 8.However, the High Court annulled the election.Also, it suggested the AP Election Commission issue a new notification.
