By Ashe O Washington 4th of September : Former President Donald Trump was little fazed by Biden’s powerful speech in Philadelphia which called for MAGA republicans who are led by Trump as an “threat to the very foundations of democratic institutions” and has reiterated his calls for him to reinstall (Trump) as President.
Trump’s comments, however absurd they may sound, seem to be gaining traction with the section of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) Republicans who are seething with anger about the 15 per cent tax imposed on corporations and the wealthy having to pay for the expensive costs of health care for the middle class via the act to reduce inflation of Biden as well as the huge student loan waiver program of the Democrats.
Even as some critics of the president Joe Biden mocked him for the Philadelphia speech (They typically do this when he is unable to find words or forgets to mention a name) they were surprised by the powerful tone of the Biden speech.On September 1st, the president delivered an address with an unambiguous message that enraged his critics.
In front of a crowd at the city’s Independence National Historical Park ( (where the political forefathers of America like Thomas Jefferson, Washington and others gathered to draft the Constitution), he addressed “the ongoing battle to preserve the spirit of our country.”
Biden made a direct attack on the man he thought was his primary opponent in this contest: “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extreme form of government that is threatening the very foundations of our country.”
Surprisingly in an abrupt change of tone on Saturday as if to appease some of the republicans who do not agree with Trump, Biden said that even though the MAGA group does not represent all Republicans and those that do back Trump are propagating an unsound ideology.
In addition, they push for legal decisions like the annulment of Roe v.Wade, he added that MAGA Republicans “fan the flames of political violence that is inflicting harm on our personal rights and to the pursuit of justice and to the rule of law, and to the very essence of this nation”.
The speech outlined the death threats made against the FBI agents who conducted the search of Mar-aLago, as well as the glorification of the insurrectionists that stormed the U.S.Capitol building.Trump has stated that he would pardon everyone who took part in the Capitol Hill uprising should he were to be president again, a statement that was and was criticized by liberals as being a bit absurd.

President Biden was asked to clarify his controversial comments on September 2, after reporters asked him if he believed that Donald Trump’s supporters pose the real danger to America.According to the New York Post, the president clarified that he didn’t mean to suggest that the MAGA faction was a threat to physical security, however, he added “I do believe that anyone who advocates for violence, refuses to condemn the use of violence or does not denounce violence whenever it’s employed and refuses to acknowledge when an election has been won, and insists on changing the manner in the way they count votes, that’s an attack on the democratic process.”
Biden’s softening of the Philadelphia speech against the MAGA was covered by the vast majority of American newspapers on Saturday.
Biden acknowledged that the voters who chose to vote for Trump were choosing his “philosophy” and not the actual events that took place following the election.However, he repeated his belief that the “failure to acknowledge and condemn” violence in the political arena and election-result denialists is “inappropriate.” The time was different, he didn’t specifically mention Trump’s refusal to admit that he had lost, but the message was evident.
The explanation doesn’t seem likely to change the minds of anyone.Pete Hegseth of Fox News laughed, “We don’t think Joe Biden was a change of heart.The thing Joe Biden said last night is exactly what the Democratic Party thinks of us .They’ve transformed the patriotic opposition into outlaws of treason, even if they want to claim it later because we’re a proponent of freedom and that’s what’s wrong?”
