Turkey releases a couple from Israeli jail

Tel Aviv : , Nov 18, 2018 – According to the statement of this government, an Israeli couple held in Istanbul under suspicion for espionage was freed by Turkey.They arrived in Tel Aviv Thursday.
According to a statement by Foreign Minister Yair Lepid and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, “Mordi Oknin and Natali Oknin were freed from prison after joint efforts with Turkey.”

Bennett and Lapid thanked Turkish President Recept Tayyip Erdan and his government for their “cooperation”, according to Xinhua news agency.

The Israel Airports Authority released photos showing the couple at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, central Israel.

Bennett posted a picture of his daughter and son hugging at the airport and said: “Welcome back.”

After taking photographs of Istanbul’s Ottoman-era Dolmabahce Palace while on a boat tour, the couple were arrested last week for spying.

Some parts of the building serve as offices for Erdogan in Istanbul.

Lapid, who was arrested after the incident, denied that the couple had worked for an “Israeli agency”.
