The 69th National Film Awards are set to take place in New Delhi on October 17, 2023.This prestigious event will witness the presence of renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli and acclaimed music composer MM Keeravani.
President Droupadi Murmu will present the awards.
SS Rajamouli, accompanied by his son Karthikeya, was seen at the airport wearing casual attire.
MM Keeravani chose a white kurta, blue pants, and sneakers as he headed to the awards ceremony with the RRR director.
The film “RRR” has achieved remarkable recognition by winning the award for Best Feature Film for Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
It also received accolades for Action Choreography, Dance Choreography, Special Effects, Background Score by MM Keeravani, and Best Male Playback Singer for the song “Komuram Bheemudo” by Kaala Bhairava.
This year is historical for the Telugu film industry as both MM Keeravani and his son, Kaala Bhairava, received National Awards, which is a significant accomplishment.
Earlier this year, “RRR” made history by becoming the first Indian film to win an Academy Award.The song “Naatu Naatu” was recognized as the Best Original Song, a momentous achievement for Keeravani and Indian cinema.
The film’s success was also acknowledged at the Golden Globes, where Keeravani was praised for his outstanding composition.
In recognition of his significant contributions to Indian cinema, MM Keeravani was honored with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award.
SS Rajamouli, known for his remarkable work, previously won National Film Awards for “Baahubali: The Beginning” and “Baahubali: The Conclusion,” which were recognized as the Best Feature Film and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, respectively.
On the professional front, SS Rajamouli’s next film, reportedly titled “SSMB29,” will feature Mahesh Babu, carrying high expectations following the global recognition of “RRR.”
