Davanagere, (Karnataka) Sep 10 : A man on Saturday accused Lingayat seer Omkara Shivacharya Swami of Renukashrama in Avaragola of sexually exploiting his wife several times over the past year.Chandrashekar from Shivamogga has claimed that his wife was sexually abused by the accused Swamiji in the Ashram.
He claimed that he has been working to get his wife out of the traps of the accused swamiji.His wife has informed him that she will commit suicide in the event of anything being revealed.
He has also made available an audio recording of the exchange between him and the Swami.In the audio clip, Chandrashekar is in a plea with Swami to bring his wife back.
He also informs Swami that he was using his wife for quite a long period of time.He informs Swami that he has the video as proof and he should return her in the event that he is not interested in any hassle.
Chandrashekar said that he had married his love after three years of courtship.However, since they were unable to have children after five yearsof marriage, his wife began going to the mutt.Then, she started visiting the mutt often.”I was caught red-handed at an event,” he alleged.
However, the story took an unexpected turn when the wife spoke out and denied the claims of her husband.She stated that her husband is drunk and has been blackmailing Swamiji for the sum of Rs 30 lakh.”My husband can go to any extent to obtain cash,” she said.
“I am requesting him to create the video he claims as proof.I’m even tempted to watch it.Swamiji has assisted me make sense of my decision to end my life.I was unable to endure the cruelty and torture of my husband.My father sold me an acres of land and I have donated all of my gold to him.” she alleged.
“We have a special reverence for the swamiji since our family is a mutt that he has,” she said.
The woman has also filed an police complaint against her husband in connection with the matter.
