Gurugram, Nov 27, : , A Jharkhand resident was allegedly conned of Rs 83,000 by a man pretending to be an IAS officer in Gurugram.Vikesh Kumar, the victim, stated in his complaint that he had been in contact with Roshan Pandey in January through Prem Prashad who lived in Jharsa village in Gurugram.
Kumar claimed that the accused said to him that he was an IAS officer who can help him get a job with the Army or DRDO.
“Pandey used visit my rented home and I transferred Rs 24,800 on Jan 18, Rs 4,800 by February 24, Rs 49.300 on July 15, and Rs 4,800 by July 22 for getting the job,” said the victim to police.
Kumar claimed that Pandey had promised to help him and his brother in law get jobs in the Army or DRDO.
To lure people, the accused used a fake IAS identification card and letters from Ministry of Home Affairs to create his WhatsApp profile pic.
Subhash Boken, spokesperson for the Gurugram police, stated that “a case under relevant sections was registered and the accused are in police custody.”
