Bhubaneswar 29 Aug : Senior Congress leader Neeraj Dangi, on Monday, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Central government’s misguided economic policies were the reason for the rise in prices and unemployment in the country.At an event for the press in Bhubaneswar, Dangi said: “There was a time when PM Modi presented a vision in the face of the Indian people of India that promised a future that was free of unemployment and inflation.Instead, Modi has delivered a nightmare of record price hikes and the highest level of unemployment in 45 years.”
“The Premier has failed to curb price increases since his election in 2014, but his misguided policies and deceit have in fact exacerbated the plight of citizens,” he added.
The LPG cylinder that was offered at a cost of around Rs.410 in 2014, is now priced between 1 240 and 1,053 for the cylindrical.
Similar to that, the prices of diesel and petrol have increased by 40 percent and 75 percent respectively during the Modi government’s time, he said.
Modi employed Modi used the Ujjwala Yojana to gain votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections but soon afterward, he discontinued the cooking gas subsidies.
The cost of LPG has increased by more than a third to Rs 1,053 and 1,240 per cylinder.Thousands of consumers are unable to be able to afford refilling their gas cylinders that are empty, he added.
The Congress MP claimed that Modi boasted to the voters in 2019 that essential items such as curd, food grains buttermilk and lassi were GST-free.However, in 2022 he introduced GST on these very items.
These are only two of the many instances in which the Prime Minister deceived population of India to gain votes, and then stabbed them in the back in the line with his “Doob Maro” philosophy, he added.
The Modi government’s policies have resulted in the drastic decline of the situation of unemployment in the country.Demonetisation and hurried GST implementation have already wrought a devastating hit to the economy Dangi alleged.
The anti-youth policies of the government have resulted in 10 lakh vacant positions in Central government which is 24 percent of the total posts that are sanctioned, he said, adding that the ill-conceived Agnipath scheme is a new danger to the future job prospects of our young people and the security of our nation.
In announcing that the Indian National Congress stands with the people in these tough times the Congress leader stated: “From ‘Sansad to Sadak We have risen up against the incompetence of the Modi government and the foolish policy of the Modi government, which have led to unemployment and price hikes in India.”
He stated that his party will to organize a ‘Mehangai Halla Bol’ rally in the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on September 4.
