Bhubaneswar Aug 26, : As many areas of Odisha’s “smart” capital city of Odisha have turned into garbage dumps the Bhubaneswar division of Odisha BJP this Friday held a demonstration in Bhubaneswar calling for the immediate disposal of the rubbish.
BJP workers and leaders took part in a protest march towards Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office in Bhubaneswar and staged a demonstration in the front of the BMC office.

Due to the inattention of the BMC authority the residents’ colony in the city became garbage dumps, as claimed by Bhubaneswar BJP President Babu Singh.

If the issue can’t be resolved within 48 hours The BJP will take to the streets and block motor vehicles in the city and warned Singh.

According to reports, BMC officials are the ones to blame for this issue Another BJP leader Dillip Mohanty claimed that the contract of the previous contractors working on the project had expired, and new contractors were hired to fulfill this requirement.

“However the deal for the distribution of funds (bribe) among officials has not been finalized to date.

This is why it’s being delayed, and ultimately the citizens are facing the issue,” he alleged.

On the other the other hand, Bhubaneswar mayor Sulochana Das acknowledged that there was an issue in certain wards due to the dumping of trash at Daruthenga was suspended due to protests from villager after an accident.

“We have begun talks with the villager population, and negotiations are underway.They have specific demands, and we are looking into them.

We plan to eliminate of the waste in the same ward making it compostable through the micro composting centers (MCCs),” said Das.
