Chennai 18 Aug : The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s free break fast program for students in primary school will benefit the most from the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC).
According to the state department of education according to the state department of education, the state education department estimates that there will be 7,618 students in CCMC that will be benefited from this scheme that was announced by chief minister M.K.Stalin on July 27.1119 students from Mettupalayam and 730 students residents of Madukkarai Municipalities of Coimbatore district also benefit from the scheme.

They are students taken from 62 of the schools in Coimbatore Municipal corporation and six of Mettuapalayam Municipality and three from Madukkara Municipality which makes a total of 74 schools in the district that are recipients of this scheme.

The CCMC has already put out an open tender for breakfast preparation and distribution in the common kitchens from Monday to Friday.The tender will run for the duration of three years.

The contractor would establish an open kitchen that will serve breakfast to distribution centers in five zones.Transit centers are designated by the Corporation to ensure the distribution of food items, CCMC officials informed IANS.

According to officials, a budget of 10 to 12 is set for each child for breakfast.The officials are waiting for tenders to be open to conclude the scheme in Coimbatore district.

An estimated of 1,14,095 students across 1,545 schools have been selected as the beneficiaries in the initial stage of the scheme.Every municipality or panchayat is able to issue tenders for the implementation of the scheme.
