San Francisco, Aug 11 : Comparing between Tesla’s long-awaited Cybertruck as well as Ford’s plug-in pickup -the F-150 Lightning, Ford CEO Jim Farley took a dig at the tech billionaire Elon Musk when he announced an investment of a significant amount in solar energy system.
According to The Verge, Farley spoke at the Ford facility in Michigan in order to announce an agreement with DTE Energy that both companies described as the “largest renewable energy purchase by the utility in US history”.

However, after praising the company’s shift towards more sustainable sources of energy, he made a quick joke about his main rival in the EV market which he has acknowledged for their role in helping propel the development of electric vehicles.

“We are working at Ford to be the leader of an digital and electronic revolution for everyone, not just many.And I must say that the bright spot for us here at Ford is this stunning Lightning manufactured just across the street in Dearborn in the state of Michigan.in Michigan.of Michigan which is already the top model of all electric pickups in the industry in the US,” he was quoted as saying.

“Take this, Elon Musk,” he added.

First revealed in 2019 in The Tesla Cybertruck was initially supposed to be in production in 2021, however Musk has announced that it will start off in the middle of 2023.

The F-150 Lightning is currently the most popular electric truck in the markettoday, surpassing the two other competitors that are available, the Rivian R1T and the GMC Hummer EV.

Farley’s remarks were likely intended to be a humorous attack on Musk who has utilized the Ford F-150 as a benchmark for evaluating the Cybertruck’s power and efficiency.
