New Delhi, December 13, 2013 : .Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State Education in India, stated Monday in Lok Sabha that several steps have been taken by the Centre to increase the education of girls in this country.Sarkar responded to a question during question hour in Lower House.He said that 13 advisories had been sent by the government during the lockdown period regarding the online teaching facility.
These advisories were for all states and territories (UTs).Students are learning online through different portals.
Responding to Shashi Tharoor, a Congress MP,’s query about female students who drop out of school because of pandemic-induced circumstances, the Minister said also that there have been steps taken by the government to reduce the gender gap, particularly after the Covid Pandemic.
The Centre provides various apps to help educate the girls.It also offers online courses.
The Minister of State for Finance Bhagawat Kard answered a question about Dharavi being in a non-recovery area and why it does not have a nationalised bank.
He suggested to the House that the opening of a bank should be discussed with state-level committees.
He also said that after a survey made by a committee, the branches of a nationalised banks can be opened and citizens there will be able to avail the schemes of the Centre.
While responding to a query regarding the leave provisions for women staffers of the banks, the minister said that substantial leave of two-years to meet their special issues.are given to female staff along with the preference in transfer and postings in the public sector banks.
Earlier, when the House assembled at 11 a.m., Speaker Om Birla recalled the December 13, 2001 attack on Parliament.”On this occasion we reaffirm our resolution to fight against terrorism.”
The entire House observed silence as a mark of respect to the martyrs who scarified their lives during the terror attack 20 years ago.
