Sudanese political declaration, which includes the reappointment of Hamdok as PM

Khartoum : , Nov 21 : , The General Commander of Sudanese Armed Forces Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan signed Sunday an official declaration that included the reappointment Hamdok as Prime Minister.

This declaration included 14 items.The most notable was Hamdok’s reappointment as prime minister.It also considered the Constitution document as the constitution reference for the transitional periods, released the political detainees and completed the institutions of the Transitional Period.

The agreement also provided that Hamdok was to choose a civil government from civilian competences.

This declaration outlined the Sovereignty Council’s task to supervise the transition period and not interfere with the executive duties of the government.

Al-Burhan stated at the ceremony of signing that the political declaration was the true foundation for the period transitional, and vowed to continue the process until free and fair election.

Hamdok, for his part, urged political parties to come together and overcome obstacles, saying, “we must unify people’s forces in order to create a strong democratic system.”

Sudan is currently in a crisis of political order after Al-Burhan, on October 25, declared a state emergency and dismantled the Sovereign Council.Al-Burhan, who was named as the chairman of this council by a constitution decree on November 11, created a Transitional Sovereign Council.

The protests against the military commander’s measures in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, and elsewhere were massive.

After the resignation of Omar al-Bashir, the Sudanese president on April 11, 2019, a civilian-military transitional body was created.
