The Tamil Nadu govt has set up 400 special medical camps in Chennai on Friday to protect people from infectious diseases due to the impact of the northeast monsoon and heavy rains from the Bay of Bengal that lashed the state for around ten days.
Private hospitals, which are partners in the state health department and the chief minister’s health insurance scheme, have set up two separate medical camps per ward under the auspices of the Greater Chennai Corporation.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday morning inaugurated a special medical camp set up in collaboration with Apollo Hospital at Picrafts Nagar, Austin Nagar, and Thenampet.Ministers Damo Anbarason, M.Subramaniam, MPs TR Balu, Tamilachchi Thangapandyan, MLAs D.Velu, Chief Secretary of the Department of Health J.Radhakrishnan, Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi and other officials were present.
Chief Minister MK Stalin has been visiting the rain-hit areas daily.
He issued orders to the authorities regarding emergency measures to be taken in the affected areas.In this context, he is going to inspect the crops submerged by the northeast monsoon and torrential rains in the delta districts.
