Priyanka Chopra, a well-known actress, has been in show business for 20 years.She recently revealed that for the first time, she will be receiving equal pay as her male co-star, Richard Madden, for their work in the Prime Video series, Citadel.
Priyanka was surprised and moved when she learned that she would be receiving equal pay.She initially did not believe that this would ever happen in her lifetime, due to the vast disparity between what she would be paid compared to her male co-stars, even if she was a co-lead.She had stopped thinking about it, but her agents at UTA suggested that they negotiate on her behalf, and she was successful in receiving equal pay.
Priyanka Chopra started her acting career in 2002 with the Tamil film Thamizhan, where she starred opposite Vijay.In 2003, she made her Bollywood debut with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy.
She moved to the US in 2015 when she was cast as the lead in the American series Quantico.She also appeared in the film Baywatch in 2017, alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
In an interview, Priyanka shared that she wondered if the fact that the head of Amazon Studios at the time, Jennifer Salke, was a woman played a role in her receiving equal pay.She believes that when women are in positions of power, they can help other women and create more opportunities for them.
Priyanka is grateful for the opportunity and hopes that it will help other actors as well.She has continued to receive equal pay in most of her jobs after Citadel, including her upcoming film Love Again with Sam Heughan, set to release in May.Priyanka will also be filming her next project, Heads of State, later this year, alongside John Cena and Idris Elba.
