“It’s an emotional story, but at the same time , it’s an extremely sad story about the way our political and social situation was deteriorating dramatically in the time.I would say to some extent that “Jogi” was difficult because I was forced to view many of delicate scenes in order to score.”

“They were pulling at the heartstrings, and it’s not easy to write music that is extremely sentimental and sad. From that perspective “Jogi” was difficult to compose,” adds the composer well-known for his compositions in “Ek Tha Tiger’, “Tiger Zinda Hai, Baaghi” and ‘Baaghi 2’ “Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Shahid Kapoor’s latest album “Bloody Daddies”

Additionally, he opens up on working with Akshay in his film that is about a serial killer, and also features Rakul Preet Singh.

“‘Cuttputlli is a film about the serial killer.I’m not able reveal details about the film, however it is the first time that I composed an orchestral score for a serial killer story. The music is quite scary and terrifying. It can be a bit violent and frightening at times. It’s a complete crime thriller and the soundtrack is edgy , and somewhat ominous and scary in certain moments.”

On the way the compositions are going to differ in the film, especially when the film releases through OTT and not in theatres, he says: “The music being for OTT isn’t a lot of over-the-top.It’s not meant for a big screen in the theatre. The music is therefore more personal, it’s for your laptops and phones.I’ve adjusted the frequency in the sense of the music.”

“You cannot have extremely low sub-frequencies because many of people do not own subwoofers in their homes. The frequencies were kept to mid-range.There aren’t too many high frequencies because they’re too much emphasized in these gadgets,” he says.

Packium says Akshay loves his music.”Akshay is a great person to collaborate with.I’ve been involved in many of his films beginning with Housefull 3 and 4.I followed up with ‘Bachchhan Paandey and now “Cuttputlli”.He is extremely accommodating, he understands and gives you space and is very tolerant of music. He provides inputs that are very beneficial occasionally,” he concludes.
