J&K LG inaugurates recommencement of the balance work of Tawi Barrage

Jammu Sep 1, : Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday inaugurated the resumption of the balance works of Tawi Barrage.
Sinha said that the reopening of Tawi Barrage is a significant event for Jammu city.

The ambitious construction project, which has been held up for nearly 10 years, will improve the beauty of the landscape, and increase the tourist potential of the city of temples, and will also facilitate the creation of places to relax for the people The Lieutenant.Governor said.

While the number of projects completed was 9,229 in 2018-19.However, more than 50,000 projects were finished in 2021-22, which is the most significant five-fold growth, Sinha said.

The planned Tawi Barrage will create a reservoir of 1.41 million cubic meters.It is an automatic and manual-operated barrage gated by an SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.The project is expected to be operational in mid-July 2023.
