Bihar Man is detained for allegedly of drinking alcohol dies

Patna 29 August : A man who was detained on suspicion of drinking alcohol in Bihar’s Saran district, died in an infirmary on Monday.
The deceased identified as Sikandar Manjhi of Pithaghat village, which is located under Garkha police station, was taken into custody on the 25th of August in his village when he was out and about in an alcohol-induced state.

Manjhi’s health was deteriorating on the day of his arrest.He was taken to hospital in Sadar Hospital Chapra.

After 3 days of treatment, he finally succumbed to it.

Family members of the deceased including the father Bira Manjhi, admitted the son had consumed alcohol on the 25th of August.Police arrested him for that.

“When we arrived at the hospital my son was vomiting, and was suffering with abdominal pain.

He was receiving treatment in Chapra’s Sadar hospital, where he died, Bira Manjhi said.

The local police have yet to issue a statement about the death of the man.The officials of Garkha police station stated that the exact reason of the death of the man will be determined only following the postmortem report.

Despite a prohibition for the consumption of alcohol in Bihar from April 2016 instances of violations of liquor bans are reported frequently in Bihar.
