This brings the total number of Omicron cases in the UK to 1,898, according to the UK’s health authorities.

According to the UKHSA, if Omicron grows at its current rate, it will be the dominant strain.It is expected that the variant would account for over 50% of all Covid-19-related infections in the UK by mid December.

If current trends are not changed, Britain could see more than 1 million Omicron-related infections by December 31st.

According to Saturday’s official numbers, 54,073 coronavirus new cases were reported in the UK.This brings the total coronavirus case count to 10,771,444, an increase of 5%.
