New Delhi, Aug 19 : Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday branded the current Central Bureau of Intelligence (CBI) raid on his home “unfortunate” and added that “those who are doing great jobs for our country are targeted”.In an e-mail in Hindi, Sisodia said the CBI detectives were appreciated and he would work with the agency investigating in every way “so that the truth could soon be revealed”.
“Many instances have been filed against me but there has been no proof to the present. There is no evidence in this case either. My pursuit of good education can’t be stopped.” he said.
“They are dissatisfied with the incredible job of education and health in Delhi. This is why they have teamed up against Delhi’s Health and Education Ministers so the great work of the department can be put on hold.
False accusations are being made against each of us.The truth will be exposed in the courtroom,” Sisodia, who also holds the portfolio for education and is also the education portfolio’s chief, said.
The CBI was conducting raids on 21 sites in Delhi as well as six states in connection with the allegations of irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy.
Sources have claimed that the CBI team that was at Sisodia’s home was “grilling Sisodia and scanning different documents”.
In response to the raids Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal posted on Twitter and stated that he would not release any information.
“The day that the most reputable news publication in America, NYT has praised Delhi’s model and published Manish Sisodia’s picture on the front pages, the Centre has sent the CBI to his home.
We are pleased to welcome CBI and will cooperate in the investigation. The raids and searches were conducted before too but there was nothing.
There is nothing to be found as well,” he said.
The CBI has already filed an FIR in connection with the alleged violations in the liquor policies against Sisodia as well as others.
