Soori was excited when Vetrimaaran offered him the role of Mani a few years ago, but it never materialized.Then, Vetrimaaran called him for a film set in Dubai, but the pandemic caused it to be dropped.

Finally, Soori got lucky with Thunaivan, a short story by B Jeyamohan, which is the basis for Viduthalai.Soori plays the role of Kumaresan, a police constable.

Soori was not confident that he could deliver what Vetrimaaran expected since he had mostly played comedian roles.However, Vetrimaaran told him to understand what he said and enact it without bringing in the Soori comedian elements.

Soori understood the director’s vision while shooting in the Sathyamangalam forest and gave it his all.
