New Delhi, Aug 11 : Aakash Chaudhry, co-founder and director of management of BYJU’s Aakash Educational Services, has bought a property worth 137 crore located at Kautilya Marg, Diplomatic Enclave, in the posh Chanakyapuri area in the capital city of India according to reports on Thursday.According to the data provided by online property registration service Zapkey the 1,300 square meters property was registered the 1st of August and Chaudhry paid stamp duty in the amount of the sum of 8.22 crore.
According to various media reports, JC Chaudhary, founder of the tutorial chain Aakash Educational Services, bought the property of 2,000 square yards in Vasant Vihar in South Delhi for more than 100 crore rupees.
He later bought a five-acre property in Delhi for approximately Rs 96 crore.the deal was completed after BYJU announced acquisition of Aakash for $1 billion.
Edtech platform BYJU’s announced in December that it had completed the acquisition of $1 billion of offline test preparation services provider Aakash which is one of the biggest deal in the edtech sector.
The company had previously stated in an announcement that transactions with Aakash were “closed”.
According to the reports, Zishaan Hayath, Founder and CEO of Toppr, an edtech company Toppr which was also bought by Byju’s company, recently purchased a 4,000 square foot apartment in Mumbai for around Rs 41 crore.
