Islamabad court to start contempt proceedings against Imran

Islamabad 22nd August : Islamabad High Court on Monday formed an additional three-member bench to hear contempt of court proceedings against Imran Khan for allegedly throwing threats at an female Additional Sessions Judge, reports in the media stated.
In the public rally he held in Islamabad as well as Rawalpindi the former prime minister warned the additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry, who granted the police detention of PTI Leader Shahbaz Gill – of consequences, Samaa TV reported.

Khan informed the participants of the protests that they would file an action against the female judge who, as per his account – made an inhumane decision , despite being aware that Gill was victimized to torture in the custodial system.

The decision to create an expanded bench was taken unanimously following consultation with the judges of the high court.

The bench will consist of justices Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, and Babar Sattar, Samaa TV reported.

In the past, the coalition condemned Khan’s comments and demanded that the court take action against the former Prime Minister.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Khan will not be permitted to contest the state’s writ of the state, by inciting rebels.
