San Francisco, Aug 24 : Tech giant Apple has begun to roll out iPadOS 16.1 beta versions to users on developers.According to TechCrunch the announcement is a shift from the normal release cycle that has connected the operating system for tablets with iOS its mobile counterpart since its launch in the year 2019.
“This is a particularly significant year for iPadOS.
Because it is the company’s own platform with features specifically made specifically for iPad We can release iPadOS according to its own timetable,” the company was quoted as saying.
“This autumn, iPadOS will ship after iOS in the form of version 16.1 in a free software update,” it added.
According to the report, the tech giant could be avoiding the iPadOS 16.0 release in the fall and instead going directly to 16.1.This means that the first version of iPadOS 16 will ship to users who are not beta users prior to the release of the initial iOS version.
Although Apple hasn’t stated this but the report did mention that it is possible that both 16.1 update will come out simultaneously.
iPadOS 16 debuted earlier this year during the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event.
One of the most important highlights of the latest software is Stage Manager, which like its macOS counterpart, allows for more fluid multitasking and easier app switching.
