Laying of statues of leaders as a mark of respect to him by party workers is a welcoming matter but placing the statue in the middle of the road causing a blockade to the commutators is not acceptable.As a part of upcoming Krishna Pushkaram Andhra Pradesh State Government has taken up road widening program in Vijayawada and also removal of statues which are causing in-convenience to the passerby.
Statues of prominent personalities are removed from side of National Highways and within the city.
In Vijayawada at Museum Center a statue of Late.Shri.N.T.Rama Rao founder of ruling party in Andhra Pradesh (Telugu Desam Party) was erected recently.This was objected by YSR Congress party leaders stating that no proper permission is taking for this erection.YSRCP accused government for its double standards and lodged police complaint.YSRCP questioned saying why only YS Rajashekar Reddy statues were removed citing rules, why not NTR statues.R&B officials finally had to remove the statue of NTR from the center in order to pacify the issue.NTR’s statue was eradicated from the place on Wednesday midnight.Government has given a clean message to the society that rule is rule, rule for all and closed the differences.
