Lucknow 25 August : The selection of Bhupendra Chaudhary to the post of UP BJP president is a clear attempt by the BJP to establish an equitable regional and caste system in the state prior to the upcoming of the Lok Sabha elections.Bhupendra Chaudhary 54 is a panchayati Raj in the Yogi Adityanath government.
He is a member to the Jat community.He comes from the western region of Uttar Pradesh.
The appointment of his successor will create about a some sort of the balance of power in the State.
President, the most of the party’s leadership is from the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath representing Gorakhpur and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi representing Varanasi in Lok Sabha.
Additionally, with Chaudhary at the chief of the party in the state, the BJP plans to soothe the anger of Jats who are unhappy with the party in the wake of the farmers’ protests last year.
The selection of Bhupendra Chaudhary according to sources from the party will also help reduce tensions in the party as Chaudhary is well-known for his friendly nature and is not a member of any particular faction.
As the OBC chief, he will further consolidate OBC’s outreach to communities that are marginalized.
