The death toll in train station attack in Ukraine is now 25.

Kiev 25 August : 25 people were confirmed as dead in the Russian shelling of the Chaplyne train station in Ukraine’s central Dnipropetrovsk region an official of the highest rank said here on Thursday.
Two kids were among the killed in the shelling which occurred on Wednesday, as Ukraine was celebrating the 31st Independence Day, dpa news agency quoted the deputy director of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko, who posted the news in his blog post on Telegram.

He added that 31 others were also injured.

President Volodymyr Zelenksy claimed in an address on video late on Wednesday evening that five bodies of dead people had been found in a car near railway tracks.

Rail infrastructure and train stations have been repeatedly damaged during the war, which ended the six-month period on Wednesday.

In April, at the very least 57 persons died in an attack at the Kramatorsk station in the eastern Donbas region.

On the Tuesday of this week, Zelensky advised citizens to beware of massive shelling as well as provocation by Russia on Independence Day.

Apart from the attack at the station the authorities also reported a number of other attacks throughout the country on Wednesday including the Khmelnytskyi region in the west, and Zhytomyr in the north.
