Dil Raju invested heavily in Samantha’s Shakuntalam which is directed and also co-produced by Gunasekhar.The film has turned out to be a huge disaster at the box office.
The theatrical returns are less than Rs 5 crores which is less than 10% of the film’s budget.The film ended up as one of the costliest disasters ever in Telugu cinema.
The film has reportedly made losses around Rs 20 crores to Dil Raju who is said to be the financial resource for the mythological film.Gunasekhar will also be losing a substantial amount of money.
Meanwhile Dil Raju recovered from that huge shock and is back to normal pretty quickly.He is busy giving interviews to a couple of channels and journalists.
Many producers go missing from the limelight after delivering a big flop.But Dil Raju proved to be different and showed how strong he is.
Recent reports are that Dil Raju is earning big with the distribution of Virupaksha in Nizam which turned out to be success.Sai Dharam Tej starrer Virupaksha which was made on a medium budget, turned out to be huge money spinner.
The movie became a compensator for the losses of Shakuntalam for Dil Raju.
