Washington, November 19, 2017 : .The White House hosted Justin Trudeau from Canada and Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the Mexican presidents.
This was their first summit of North American leaders since 2016.According to Xinhua, Biden and Trudeau met in private on Thursday before the summit of three people.
The White House stated that the summit saw the leaders of the trio “reiterate our strong ties, integration, and willingness chart a new course for our partnership in times when we face incredible complex global challenges”, and released a statement.
It added that the leaders committed to taking concrete steps to support their common goals.
These included ending the Covid-19 epidemic and improving global health.
Biden addressed the media and stated that we can overcome all challenges if only we take the time to talk with each other — by working together.
He stated, “And we must end the pandemic” and take action to stop the climate crisis.
We must drive an inclusive recovery, make sure everyone benefits from it, manage unprecedented migration to our hemisphere and eliminate inequity which continues to limit opportunity for too many.
The President stated that efforts such as increasing supply chain resilience, reliance and worker protections, improving cybersecurity and supporting small and medium business thrive in the Northern Hemisphere will help strengthen the region.
