Sonam Bajwa, a Punjabi actress who has also acted in Tamil and Telugu films, recently gave an interview about her experience in the Indian film industry. She spoke about how Bollywood actors have more access to filmmakers than her and how people in the industry have called her “just a pretty face.” When asked if there was anything she wanted to steal from young actresses like Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, she said “nothing” but then added that she wishes she had the same access to filmmakers like they do, particularly filmmaker Karan Johar.
Sonam also shared a disheartening experience she had in the industry. She was supposed to appear in the song “Sip Sip 2.0” for the film “Street Dancer 3D” starring Varun Dhawan. However, her song was cut from the movie. She felt upset about this as she had initially been hesitant to do the song but had decided to go ahead with it because of the team involved.
Despite these challenges, Sonam has continued to work hard and has several projects lined up.She recently appeared in the US Tour of The Entertainers along with actors Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, and Mouni Roy.She will also be seen in “Carry On Jatta 3” where she will be reuniting with Gippy Grewal.Directed by Smeep Kang, the film also stars Binnu Dhillon.
Overall, Sonam Bajwa is a Punjabi actress who has faced some challenges in the Indian film industry. She wishes she had the same access to filmmakers as some of the star kids in Bollywood and has experienced disappointment when her work has been cut from films.Nonetheless, she remains determined and has several upcoming projects that she is excited to be a part of.
