Jammu 17 August : An investigation team (SIT) of J&K Police was formed on Wednesday to look into the murder of six individuals whose partially decomposed bodies were discovered in the luxurious Sidhra living area of Jammu city. “SIT led by Sanjay Sharma (SP rural Jammu), Pardeep Kumar (SDPO Nagrota) and Inspector Vishav Partap (SHO Nagrota) and SI Majid Hussain (IC Police Post Sidhra) has been set up to investigate the issue.
“Prima in the first instance, it is an instance of poisoning, but it remains to be determined whether it’s an instance of force poisoning or not.
“Five deceased were from Marmat in Doda district of Jammu division, and one was from the Barzalla region of Srinagar district.
“Of the above, Sakina Begum and her two daughters, Naseema and Rubina, and her son, Zafar Saleem, and Sajad Ahmad came from Doda district, while Noor-ul-Habib was from the Barzalla region of Srinagar District.
“Around 10 p.m.yesterday we received a phone call from an individual in Barzalla region of Srinagar informing us that her brother Noor ul-Habib, was not responding to the calls she made and she was worried about an unusual incident that took place.
“Upon this, the police officers of the police station Sidhra and the police station Nagrota went to the location and discovered that the doors of the residence were locked from the inside.
“The doors of the house were forcefully opened in the presence of residents of Tawi Vihar Colony in Sidhra.
“It was discovered that the dead bodies of deceased people were in a pile in the room.
“A group of FSL as well as photographers of the crime section of PCR was called in.
“Locals of the area informed that the four bodies belonged to of Noor-ulHabib Sakina Begum Sajad Ahmed, and Nassema Akhter.
“Locals also informed us that there was another house belonging to one of the deceased.
“The police team went there and opened the doors.They discovered two more bodies of Rubina Bano and her brother Zafar Saleem” police said.
Senior police officers, such as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Chandan Kolhi also rushed to the scene.
The bodies are in the medical college of the state hospital in Jammu where medical legal formalities, such as post-mortem, are being carried out to determine the precise cause of the death.
