Bhopal 20th August : A poor quality health care, no availability of hearse, or pregnant women being admitted to hospital on cots are often reported from different regions of Madhya Pradesh.Another shocking instance of medical negligence has been revealed in which the head wound of woman was covered with the wrapper of a condom.
The shocking incident occurred in Morena district the area in which a condom wrapper was used as an interim bandage that stopped bleeding from a head wound that was sustained by a woman called Reshma Bai.
The incident was discovered when a doctor from the Morena district hospital started to alter the dressing of the wound of Reshma Bai who was referred there by an area health centre in the district.
Reshma had suffered a head injury.her head.
she was treated for the injury at the local health center, which referred her to the hospital district.
The physician at the district hospital unwrapped the bandage that was placed on the head of the patient, he was shocked to discover a condom wrapper in the bandage together with cotton.
Rakesh Mishra the Chief Medical Health Officer (CHMO) of Morena, said, “The doctor who was treating the woman in the health centre had apparently asked the ward’s boy to put some sort of card board on top of the cotton pad however, he kept a small packet of condoms instead.”
Mishra said to IANS that the Ward boy has been resigned from the service with immediate effect, and that an inquiry has been commenced to investigate the matter.
