New Delhi, Sep 13 : The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on Tuesday, announced the intention of adopting 1 lakh TB patients as part of the “Tuberculosis (TB) Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’.AThe FICCI has pledged to adopting one lakh TB patients using the collective capacity of FICCI members.
They will to support the state government through becoming Ni-kshay Mitras.This was announced following an event with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya as well as the FICCI Health Services Leadership.
“FICCI is committed to adopting one lakh patients suffering from TB through the collective power of its members.They will also to support the Govt in The Tuberculosis Mukt Bharat Abhigyan.
The announcement came after an interaction with Dr.@mansukhmandviya, Minister @MoHFW_INDIA with FICCI Health Services Leadership,” the federation said in a tweet.
The Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan initiative was launched by President Droupadi Murmu on 9 September to reenergize the goal of TB elimination from the nation by 2025.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the clarion call to end TB in the country five years ahead of the SDG goal of 2030 during the End TB Summit in March 2018.
The TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan has been designed to unite all stakeholders in the community to assist those who are on TB treatment and speed up the progress of the country in the direction of TB elimination.
The President also announced the Ni-kshay Mitra initiative , which is a key element of the Abhiyaan.
The Ni-kshay Mitra portal provides a platform for donors to offer various types of assistance to people undergoing TB treatment.The three-pronged assistance includes diagnostic, nutritional and vocational support.
The donors, referred to as Ni-kshay Mitras can be any number of stakeholders that include corporate houses as well as industry representatives.
