Canberra, November 20, : , Despite the high level of vaccination, more Australians believe they will get Covid-19 in their short-term future.This is according to a new survey.
Australian National University (ANU), published their latest study about the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The survey found that 40% of Australians believe they will catch Covid-19 within the next six-months — which is the highest number during the pandemic.

Nicholas Biddle from ANU’s Center for Social Research was coauthor.He said that fear of infection in the April 2021 study was four times greater than it was in April 2021.

In April 2021, around 10% of Australians were concerned about being infected with Covid-19.He stated that 40 percent of Australians now think the same thing in a Friday media release.

He said, “This is an enormous leap and shows that although the majority of Australian adults are being vaccinated against Covid-19,”

Respondents who stated they were experiencing severe mental stress as a result the pandemic rose to 12.5 percent, an unprecedented high compared with the 10.6 percentage in April 2020.

Australia has reported 1363 local cases on Saturday as it continues its fight against the third wave Covid-19 infection.

Most new cases occurred in Victoria, which is the second most populous state of the nation with Melbourne being the capital.There were 1,166 deaths and 519 cases reported.

According to the Department of Health, 91.4 percent of Australians 16 years and older had at least one dose of vaccines and 84.9 percent were inoculated fully as of Friday.
