The AP police in Tamil Nadu state have seized Rs.6.3 crore worth of red sandalwood logs.Madanapalle police in Chittoor district raided Bommanahalli in the Hosur district of Tamil Nadu and seized the Redsandalwood logs.The police estimated that the Red sandalwood logs worth Rs 6.3 crores.
The police arrested a man named Kannadasan while carrying these red sandalwood logs in a car.According to the Madanapalle police report, the police found a man smuggling red sandalwood in a car during a vehicle inspection at the check posts in the town.The accused said that there were stocks of A-grade red sandalwood logs in a warehouse in Hosur.With this, some police went to the warehouse in Hosur.
On this occasion, police found that a smuggler named Imran Khan was buying logs of red sandalwood and exporting them abroad.The police raided the warehouse in the Bommanahalli suburb of Hosur district and found 243 logs of the red sandalwood weighing 8.4 tonnes.Police estimate that these red sandalwood costs around Rs 6.3 crore.Police have seized the logs.
Police have seized cars, cash and other belongings of smuggler Imran Khan and are investigating.
