Chandigarh 26 August : Punjab Lok Congress President and former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday said the Congress under the current regime was doomed to fail beyond redemption. “When you can’t retain leaders such as Ghulam Nabi Azad, who devoted all of his time with the party, something is fundamentally wrong with your organization and how you handle your veteran and senior top leaders,” he remarked in an announcement, which was released here.
In response to the assertions of some leaders who claimed that the party gave Azad many benefits, Amarinder Singh said that “it is a reciprocal system”.”Party is built through sweat and blood and effort of the leaders,” he remarked, adding: “It cannot be a one-man show.”
We congratulate Azad for his bold decision.he stated that a conscientious and sincere leader can’t be a slouch when it comes to principles and respect for dignity.
“It is a specific group of people with an enumeration of interest groups that have caused the degeneration,” he observed, as he pointed out the senior leaders who fought many storms over moment and stood by the party are now being forced to go.
Amarinder Singh also condemned the false statements made by some Congress officials against Azad.
“Instead of levelling baseless charges against him, look into the reasons this exodus is becoming non-stop and is accelerating,” he advised those trying to be “more loyal than the King”.
