New Delhi, Aug 5 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chairperson of the seventh meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog on Sunday (August 7).The meeting will be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre in Delhi.
The agenda of the meeting, for instance it will include diversification of crops and the achievement of self-sufficiency in oilseeds and pulses as well as Agri-communities Implementation of the National Education Policy, which focuses on school education Implementation of the National Education Policy for higher education as well as urban governance.

In an announcement, NITI Aayog said that as India celebrates the 75th anniversary of Independence and Independence, there is a need for states to be flexible, resilient and self-reliant , and move towards ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharati’ in a spirit of co-operative federalism.

The NITI Aayog’s Governing Council is the premier body charged with creating a shared vision of national strategies and priorities with the active participation of states and union territories.The Governing Council presents a platform to discuss inter-departmental, inter-sectorial and federal issues.

The NITI Aayog’s Governing Council includes the Prime Minister of India and Chief Ministers of all states and union territories with the legislature Lieutenant Governors of other UTs; ex-officio Members and Vice Chairman NITI Aayog and full-time members of NITI Aayog, Union Ministers on Special Invitations.It is one of the most important platforms for discussions among the Centre and states , and identifies important strategies for action with the whole-of-government approach.
