Srinagar (12/12/2012) The cold wave in Kashmir and Ladakh continued on Sunday, with night temperatures below freezing.Additionally, icy winds added to the chill factor.Meteorological officials (MeT), said that the lowest temperature was still below freezing in Kashmir and Ladakh, while Drass, at minus 17.8 Celsius, was the coldest.
Srinagar was at minus 3.0; Pahalgam was at minus 3.8, and Gulmarg was at minus 4.2.
Drass, Ladakh recorded minus 17.8, Leh was minus 15.3, and Kargil was minus 9.1 for the lowest night temperature.
“Jammu city had 7.7, Katra 7.0, Batote had 3.1, Banihal 0.8 and Bhaderwah 0.9 as the minimum temperature,” the official said.
The weather is likely to remain dry in J&K and Ladakh during the next 24 hours.
