New Delhi, Aug 29 : In the midst of the ongoing battle between the Centre and the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday alleged Delhi Lieutenant.Governor V.K.Saxena of taking part in corruption during demonetisation. The party is demanding the removal of the L-G for “indulging in money laundering during demonetisation, as well as gross abuse of authority as chairman of the Khadi Gramodyog”.
AAP MLA and senior leader Atishi AAP MLA Atishi claimed: “When the people of the entire country were lining up in lines in the midst of demonetisation, Delhi L-G Saxena was engaged in converting his black money into white. At first, Khadi Gramodyog Chairman Saxena pressurised the cashiers of Khadi stores across the country to have his old currency that was unaccounted to the new currency.”
At a press conference on Monday she claimed that two Khadi Village Industries cashiers testified against Saxena.
“Why did no investigation not get started against V.K? AAP calls on that the Central government as well as the CBI to conduct an investigation thorough in V.K.Saxena’s Rs .1,400 crore scam case. This is an obvious situation of money laundering.
ED should conduct an investigation and search his residence and offices,” she said.
“How can a person who has swindled the nation of 1400 crore rupees during an economic crisis like demonetisation be allowed to hold the most prestigious position of the Delhi L-G? Saxena should be removed from his post until the CBI-ED probes the matter,” she added.
She added that , on Monday, AAP legislator from Rajinder Nagar, Durgesh Pathak presented shocking facts in the Assembly.
“Two of the cashiers of KVIC Sanjeev Kumar and Pradeep Yadav have presented an account to different inquiry committees. It isn’t possible for cashiers to transform black currency into white due to the fact that they have tiny posts. It’s also not easy for cashiers to issue statements. However, they have provided written statements that stated that they were pressured by the Vice-President Vinai Kumar Saxena, who was then chairman.exchange the old notes of currency, which were mostly black money with modern ones,” Atishi told the media.
