The spread of coronavirus is causing a stir among students at a medical college in Maharashtra.Thirty medical students have succumbed to corona at the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital, a public sector medical college hospital in Mumbai.
Of these, 23 are second-year students, and seven are first-year students.Two of those infected with the virus were hospitalized for treatment as they developed severe symptoms.The rest were placed under self-isolation.
On the other hand, corona tests were conducted for other students in the college.
Of the 30 corona victims, 28 were reported to have received two doses of the vaccine.Mumbai Mayor Kishori Padnekar believes that the corona may have spread to all of them due to the cultural program held at the college.An inquiry has been ordered into this.
Schools and colleges in many parts of the country have reopened their educational institutions as the second wave of corona declined in India.
However, there has been concern that students in some schools and colleges are testing positive for coronavirus.Recently, 54 students at a residential school in Bangalore tested positive for coronavirus.
