Jammu 24 August : Two significant infiltration attempts have been thwarted in the past 48 hours by troops on alert stationed on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushera sector in Jammu and Kashmir Army officials said on Wednesday.
Army officials claimed that in the early hours on the 21st of August the soldiers who were alert in Jhangar region of Naushera saw movement of three or two terrorists.

“One terrorist was close to the Indian post and attempted to cut the fence, but he was confronted by vigilant guards.The terrorist tried to escape but he was killed by the force of fire, injuring the attacker.

“Two terrorists who were hiding in the area after taking cover of thick jungle and broken ground.The wounded Pakistani terrorist was found alive and was given with immediate medical assistance and life-saving surgery performed,” an army official told the media.

The terrorist captured has identified himself as Tabarak Hussain, who is a resident of Sabzkot village in district Kotli of Pakistan in Pakistan’s occupied Kashmir.

Army officials stated that during more interrogation the terrorist admitted about their plans to attack the Indian army post.

“Tabarak Hussain” stated that he was contacted by Colonel of Pakistan Intelligence Agency named Col Yunus Chaudhry, who had given the terrorist (Pakistani) the sum of Rs.30,000.He also disclosed that he together with others, carried close recces of two or three of Indian forward posts with the aim of targeting them at the right moment.The authorization to attack the Indian post was given by Colonel Yunus Chaudhry on the 21st of August,” an army official stated.

“Incidentally the person was previously seized by Indian Army from the same sector in 2016 along with his brother Haroon Ali.They were returned on humanitarian reasons in November of this year.”

The army claimed that in the 2nd operation in the evening of August 22/23 the group of three to four terrorists attempted to enter in Lam Naushera area.of Naushera.

“Our soldiers were alert and able observe the terrorists when they crossed the Line of Control and continuously monitored their movements.As they crossed into our minefields, a number of mines were activated and two terrorists were eliminated in a matter of seconds.

The other terrorist is likely injured and may be in hiding in the vicinity or is using the advantages of the weather conditions and thick vegetation,” an army official said.

“In the early morning of August 23rd, a quadcopter flying over the area and the bodies of two terrorists who had died were found.

A planned operation was carried out through the heavily mined region and the remains of the two terrorists been recovered together with an AK-56 three magazines, an enormous amount of ammunition and war-like stores.Since the region is highly mined, the search is being conducted in a controlled manner and is in the process of being completed.More recovery efforts in the region are anticipated.”

The officials of the army said that the two infiltration attempts, in a short span of 48 hours, are an attempt by the enemy to disrupt peaceful environment in Rajouri area.

“However our troops stationed in the Line of Control remain alert to deter any plots of the adversaries,” an official said.
