New Delhi, Aug 16 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday had an audio conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron during which he expressed his solidarity with Macron.Modi expressed his solidarity to the French leader in the face of the wildfires and drought in the country of his birth, according to an official.The Prime Minister’s Office in a statement said that the two leaders also discussed the ongoing bilateral initiatives, including cooperation in the field of defence and collaboration in nuclear energy for civil purposes.
They also discussed the most pressing geopolitical challenges including issues that concern global food security.
Modi and Macron have also expressed their appreciation for the strength and depth that the Strategic Partnership between India and France has gained in the last few years, the statement stated that both parties have agreed to continue to work together to extend the partnership into new areas of cooperation.
