Ankita who was one of the residents of Jaruadih area of Dumka was being targeted by Shahrukh who was in the same area in the past few months.He had gotten the number of her mobile from a different source and was trying to get her to talk to him on the phone and to get married to him.
The family members of Ankita’s had previously spoke with Shahrukh but he did not stop talking to him.In the night of August 22nd, he threatened to kill Ankita and then a few hours later in the morning in the morning, while everybody in the home was asleep Shahrukh sprayed petrol over Ankita who was asleep in a room by herself in the room through the window, and lit her on the fire.When Ankita’s cries were heard and screams, her family awoke to find Shahrukh running with an empty can of gasoline.Police were immediately informed and the suspect Shahrukh was detained the next day.
